Lakefield House

Lakefield House stands  in spacious and delightful gardens with its private drive.  Inside the house you will be surprised by the cleverly-designed, roomy interior.

The magnificent drawing room is designed to take full advantage of the glorious views (over Esthwaite Water and the fells from Coniston Old Man to Wetherlam), with sofas that invite you to relax and enjoy the scenery. Even if it rains you can still enjoy the view! Indeed, many of our guests find it difficult to tear themselves away from the mesmerising view! (see "Gallery"  for views from Lakefield)

The House has a modern kitchen/ dining room with modern appliances and equipment. The dining room also has the same beautiful views.  All linen (except towels) is included. The house sleeps a maximum of ten people in 5 bedrooms with 4 bathrooms (3 en-suite) and is strictly No Smoking.

The accommodation comprises:

• Open carport leading to front door.
• Entrance hall.
• Drying/walking gear room with Belfast sink, dryer and clothes line.
• Superb spacious drawing room with full wall of picture windows overlooking Esthwaite Water and Coniston fells. 
  It has five comfortable sofas, an open fire, a 40" flatscreen TV with FreeSat (plus DVD /video player) and a  museum standard model of  HMS Victory in a glass case.
• The dining area has a substantial oak table and glazed patio doors leading to a substantial raised deck.
• The stylish kitchen is modern and exceptionally well-equipped with:
  a double oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher,fridge.
• (In the adjoining utility room)  there is a large fridge/freezer (three large freezer drawers), microwave and slow-cooker , and washing machine (tumble dryer - dryer in drying room, above), with a door  to the rear garden.
• An inner hallway is well stocked with a wide range of games, puzzles and books (plenty of children's books), as well as videos  and DVDs.

All bedrooms are furnished to a high standard with beautiful fabrics and furniture. Three stylish en-suite bedrooms are on the ground floor: 

• king size four poster with luxurious en-suite.
• twin bedroom with luxury en-suite.
• double bedroom with  modern en-suite.

Each downstairs bedroom has a  flatscreen TV.

Upstairs are two further bedrooms:

• king-size and a twin, with a further luxury bathroom.
• also upstairs is a further sitting room/den with super lake and mountain views and a 32"flatscreenTV(with FreeSat),DVD/video and Playstation 2 and a small kitchen, ideal for a making cups of tea.
  

Parking is for four to five cars in the driveway. The gardens are a great feature of the house, to the front side and rear. In the front, there is a small pond so care must be exercised with small children.

For rainy days the garage contains a full-size Cornilleau table tennis table and an exercise bike. O2 wireless broadband reception (slowish speed) - bring an 02 dongle (e.g. pay-as-you-go). Tesco Direct can deliver food/groceries, if required.
